Dichroa febrifuga Description: Dichroa febrifuga is a flowering plant in the family Hydrangeaceae. The dried root of Dichroa febrifuga is a traditional Chinese medicine. Its insecticidal properties and insect repelling action was recorded in the ancient Chinese medical theory "Sheng Nong's herbal ", and the alkaloids contained in the root of Dichroa febrifuga have been proved to be the main components for anti-coccidiosis activity which has been proved in many modern clinical trials.

Dichroa febrifuga contains an alkaloid named Halofuginone, which is a very effective anticoccidial ingredient for livestock and poultry. It is reported that halofuginone is mainly used for coccidiosis and malariain of domesticating animals such as domestic animals, poultry (turkey, sheep, rabbit, goat, cattle).
